These high-quality binoculars exude Japanese build quality from a bygone era before the wave of offshoring swept the optics industry. · Multicoated BaK7 optical glass provides sharp, contrasty views · 5.5-degree field of view (96 m at 1,000 m) · Ergonomically contoured binocular body with leatherette covering for secure grip and comfortable viewing As the photos show, the condition of both the binoculars and case is incredible. Although these binoculars were made nearly 40 years ago (estimated date of manufacture late 1980s), they look and work as new, with smooth operation of hinge, focuser, and diopter adjustment mechanism.These binoculars appear to have been used very carefully and/or infrequently and treated as a cherished object by previous owners. Unscrewing the round cap at the front of the hinge reveals tripod mounting socket, which allows mounting of the binoculars on Vixen Type H Tripod Adapter and attachment to any tripod fitted with standard 1/4-20 mounting screw.
